Science Operations on Deck: Recovered beacons and set those in the new location (NT2-01E) at 10:41 a.m. on 4th November. Calibration finished at 15:29 p.m. Moved to 5 nm upstream and began running in from 18:45 p.m. while drifting at 3 knots current. Positioned the ship at location at 00:45 a.m. on 5th November, tag the seabed at 2446.5m water depth, and spuded at 01:00 a.m. Jetted-in for 50 m and then rotary drilling to the 178 m.
Science Operations in Labs: Review process continued to Site C0003 reports. Science party began working on Site C0004 LWD data. Lab technicians continued setting up instruments, MSCL-C, core splitter, SQUID, EA, GCs, carbonate analyzer; training, X-ray CT operation.
