Science Operations on Deck: Chikyu moved to 5 nm upstream at 00:00 on 9 November and began running into the pilot hole with MWD assembly while drifting from 04:00. Continue running drill string from 06:00 while checking every single connection, which might have loosed from strong vibration during the drilling in previous hole. Running into the hole with 100m/h speed and pump rate of 85 spm. With absence of ROV monitoring due to the deep water, spud Site C0006A at 00:15 on 10 November (3875 m water depth).

Science Operations in Labs: Continued Review process on C0004 reports. Lab technicians continued setting up instruments including thermal conductivity measurement system and sample tool bin.
