Science Operations on Deck: Made up HPCS coring assembly and run into hole to 1600 m below the sea surface until 6:00 a.m. A mechanical failure was found at Drawworks so that stopped running and pulled out the pipes on board.

Science Operations in Labs: Whole science party got onboard. Started 24 hrs working shift after having a safety induction and a short introductory science meeting. Checked measurement procedures and preparation of laboratory instruments by all scientists. Confirmed procedures of downhole temperature measurement with downhole engineer, core tech and OSI.
