2007 November 25 (Day 10)
Weather: Fine but Cloudy
Site: C0001 (NT2-03) (33°14’ N, 136°42’ E)
Science Operations on Deck: Spudded hole G at 1:00 a.m. on November 25. Jetted down to 74.5 meters below the seafloor (mbsf) and started rotary drilling. Just after start drilling, ROV umbilical cable jammed the drill pipe. Stopped drilling and started pull-out-of-hole. Recovered ROV safely without damage. Made up RCB assembly again, and run-in-hole to the Hole C0001H, which is about 10 m away from the previous hole.

Science Operations in Labs: Completed first-round descriptions and measurements of the Hole C0001F cores (19 HPCS and 2 ESCS cores). Confirmed sampling procedures from working half cores among the Science Party. In addition to the general agreement, sampling from structurally important intervals were discussed separately in a working group.
