2007 November 28 (Day 13)
Weather: Rain
Site: C0001 (NT2-03) (33°14’ N, 136°42’ E)
Science Operations on Deck: Continued RCB coring at the Hole C0001H to 448.0 meters below the seafloor and recovered 6 cores today. High torque was observed at 414.5 meters, but after twice of pumping of Hi-Vis drilling fluid, it reduced back to normal. Core recovery is generally as low as 30–35 % except for one core which yielded almost full recovery. Stopped coring at 448.0 mbsf, started Free Fall Funnel installation operation.

Science Operations in Labs: Science Party continued routine core processing and started individual sampling from split halves. Strong vibration due to bad weather since last evening caused noises on MSCL-image, which should be reprocessed later. Structural geologists are reconstructing paleostress fields using minor fault geometry with paleomagnetic restoration. Co-chiefs and EPM informed about updated operation schedule at the science meeting.
