Science Operations on Deck: After jetting down to 50 mbsf, drilled by 10-5/8" RCB assembly with center bit to 181 mbsf at the Hole C0002B. Replaced a broken bolt on Top Drive, and continued drilling to 414 mbsf, then started coring.

Science Operations in Labs: Completed sample preparation and equipment set up for I analyses in interstitial water (by ICP-MS). Had a science seminar on the results of IODP Exp. 308 Gulf of Mexico by Jan Behrmann (IFM-GEOMAR; DE).
