Science Operations on Deck: Cored continuously from 475 to 628 mbsf by RCB.

Science Operations in Labs: Processing of cores from Hole C0002B is ongoing. Iodine measurement by ICP-MS for the samples from the Site C0001 is also ongoing. Drafts of Methods chapter of the Expedition Report are under the first review process by Co-Chiefs and Expedition Project Manager.

Overall Science Update: Microfossil age determination demonstrated sediments of the Kumano Basin are significantly younger than the sediments of the same depth in the Site C0001.
