Drilling Vessel CHIKYU
The expedition aims to collect core samples from mass transport deposit (MTD) near Splay Fault, from the subduction input sites and measure their heat flow.

Coring and in situ heat flow measurements of upper sediment sections at the sites of subduction inputs (C0011 and C0012), basement coring at Site C0012, and coring mass transport deposits (MTD) associated with major splay fault (NTS-1A).
