Turbo-Corer

When drilling to extreme depths, drill pipes encounter increased friction and lose drill bit efficiency as power from the surface Hydraulic Power Swivel (HPS) system decreases. Thus, more power at the bottom of the borehole is required to drill extremely deep underwater formations. A conceptual design for a more powerful and effective Turbo-Corer for the rotary core barrel is now under development.
This Turbo-Corer is retrievable by wireline and is also capable of using mud as a drilling fluid.

2. Directional control for vertical coring
3. Enhance core quality and recovery
