-It's a great chance to study on CHIKYU!

Deep Sea Drilling Vessel CHIKYU is the first riser
equipped scientific drilling vessel built for science 
at the planning stage. It is capable of drilling up to
7,000m deep sea floor and aim to the mantle and
seismogenic zone. 

The Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) is an 
international marine research drilling program supported
by 23 countries dedicated to advancing scientific understanding
of Earth by sampling and monitoring subseafloor environments.

You can ship on CHIKYU, experience advanced lab and learn 
earth sciences. Following two different courses are 
planned.


*CHIKYU Basic Research Course
Target: Over university students interested in IODP researches
Dates: 26-28, Sep., 2008
Number: 20 persons
Closing date: 21 Aug., 2008 17:00 (Japanese time)
