Young scientists joined the CHIKYU Core School
3 Days for the virtual IODP Expedition 999!
----------------------------------------

The CHIKYU Core School was successfully held in September.
The school was named Expedition 999 Chikyu Hakken
(Discover the Earth in Japanese), setting a theme of
feeling the real stratigraphy under the seafloor
by studying the sediment layers to the mantle
through the visual core description, paleontology,
petrology and geochemistry analyses.

Total 43 participants had a great time in the virtual 
IODP Expedition; 28 students and lecturers acted as
onboard scientists, and 15 public participants also
experienced lab activities.
