The Nankai Trough Seismogenic Zone Experiment, NanTroSEIZE in short,
is now in operation its second stage expedition off the Kii
Peninsula, Japan where Philippine Sea Plate is subducting into
the continental plate. NanTroSEIZE Expedition 319 has been launched
on May 10th and now the Deep Sea Drilling Vessel 'Chikyu' is conducting
the setting of conductor pipe for the riser drilling operation
for the first time in the history of scientific drilling.

The scientific objective of NanTroSEIZE, stories behind the
ocean drilling and the Chikyu's cutting-edge technology will
be introduced in more than 200 countries or regions internationally.
