Expedition daily report on June 4, 2009 (Day 26)
Weather: Cloudy
Location: NT2-11B, Hole C0009A (33.27N / 136.32E)

Cementing 20 inch casing pipe was successfully completed
at 05:00 yesterday morning. Drill string was pulled out
of the hole and BOP (Blow Out Preventer) preparation started
in the afternoon. Preparation of BOP continues today.
The first group of the science party will come onboard this
morning and the Co-Chief Project Scientist, Dr.Harold Tobin
will leave the ship. Although Nobu Eguchi will stay onboard
until the morning of June 8th, onboard Expediton Project Manager
will change to Kyoma Takahashi from this morning. You will
soon hear more scientific aspects of the expedition in this daily
report, once riser drilling starts. Thank you for your support

Information about TV program featuring the CHIKYU
"Live from International Space Station (recorded)"
Re-air on June 7th 2009, NHK

The TV program featured the CHIKYU as a main station to
communicate to the astronauts in the International Space Station
and other relay points will be re-aired.
The program summarize the live report from space and the CHIKYU
aired on May 4th. Dr. Asahiko Taira, executive director of
JAMSTEC introduce the science mission of the CHIKYU. Through
the history of Earth and the environmental system, we will stare
our significant planet Earth. Don't miss it!
