S4S students visit National Museum of Nature and Science Tokyo

Hokkaido Iai-junior and high school students who took part in Sand for Student field work in 2005 visited Dr. Yokoyama’s laboratory who was lecturer during the fieldwork, to study more about analysis method of sediment. For their school activities, they continuously study sediment collection and analysis of mineral.

During this visit, students learned eagerly about sample preparation method to make slide or panning, and also about more expert mineral analysis method by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).
