A cable ship KPL opened for loading DONET backbone cable system early in the New Year of 2010. A 300km length of submarine cable, five repeaters, five termination equipments (science node interface) and 2 of 5 branching units were loaded in cable tanking area spending 5days at cable factory in Kitakyushu. The KPL leave the port headed for Kumano-nada Nankai trough January 10. Starting by the cable end landing in January 15, the DONET backbone cable system is began to install to seafloor. The construction is scheduled to complete in mid March 2010.
