MISMO observation network
Figure1: MISMO observation network
At the beginning of the stationary observation, m-TRITON buoy, sub-surface Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) mooring, and ARGO float were deployed in the Indian Ocean by R/V MIRAI and the observation network between Maldives Island and R/V MIRAI has been developed. ATLAS buoy, developed by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), measures subsurface temperature along with marine meteorological element such as air temperature, wind speed and direction. ADCP buoy is the mooring device with sub-surface ADCP fixed approximate 300 meters water depth. It measures water current up to near the sea surface by releasing acoustic wave upward.
