Mr. Yamane holds prominent positions, such as a temporary employee of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), an expert member of the Central Council for Education (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)), a special committee member of the Space Activities Commission (MEXT), and so on.
He picked up "SHINKAI 6500" in his still running serial article "Age of Metal-Color" on 'Weekly Post' (on September 15, 2000 issue), in which he reveals fundamental strength of Japanese Manufacturing.
He will give a lecture entitled "Achievement and Prospect of Deep-sea Research by Manned Research Submersible" on March 28, 2007 at the Harumi Passenger Terminal hall, Harumi Pier, Tokyo Port. In the lecture, he will talk about his rare experience on "SHINKAI 6500" and his expectation for the deep-sea research along with introduction of various images.
