| Job Description | Applicant is expected to conduct the following experiments in the field of microbial genetics and biochemistry as supporting the research. •Cultivation of microorganisms belonging to various phyla. •PCR amplification, cloning, and DNA sequencing by DNA sequencer(ABI3130/ABI3730). In addition, includes any of the following operations. •Purification of proteins by column chromatography. •Molecular analysis Liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) or gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). •Molecular interaction analysis using surface plasmon resonance (SPR). |
| Requirements | Applicant is required to be skilled as follow. •Cultivation of organisms belonging to various phyla. •PCR amplification, cloning, and DNA sequencing. Operation and daily maintenance of the analytical equipments are also included. In addition, it is preferable to be skilled any of the following. •Purification of proteins by column chromatography. •Molecular analysis using LC/MS or GC/MS. •Molecular interaction analysis using SPR (especially with Biacore/GE healthcare) *No specialized knowledge about the research project is necessary. |

| Salary | Annual salary : 3,600,000JPY - 4,000,000JPY *No bonus/retirement allowance provided. *Salary will be competitive in accordance with JAMSTEC's bylaws, by considering academic career, research ability and research role in BioGeos (annual salary system). Appointment level for positions will be determined by JAMSTEC after the interview based upon the discussion with the successful candidates. |
| Terms of Employment | 1) Commuting fee will be provided in accordance with JAMSTEC's bylaws. 2) The participant and JAMSTEC will share the premiums for insurance and labor insurance according to the current statutory proportion. 3) Housing lease service is not available. 4) Holidays and vacations: Saturday, Sunday, public holidays, year-end and beginning of the year are holidays. There are annual vacations with pay, special vacations, and leave of absence for care and maternity leave. 5) Other: There are various kinds of subsidies available for personal interests/welfare provided by JAMSTEC's employees' cooperative. |
