The Tropical Climate Research Program in Research Institute for Global Change is seeking one Postdoctoral Scientist for transferring data quality control technology to the Republic of Indonesia (BPPT) and analyzing outputs of climate forecast model data, re-analysis data and observation data for the purpose of mapping rainfall anomaly over the Indonesian Maritime Continent in seasonal to interannual timescale. In this project, we will transfer our surface buoy (TRITON buoy) technology including data quality control to Republic of Indonesia, and support their effort to develop their climate observation-forecast system to mitigate various disasters in Indonesian region. This project is funded by Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS) which is jointly supported by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to promote international joint researches on global issues with developing countries.
Applications are invited to cover the following topics:
| (1) | Analysis of outputs of forecast coupled model, re-analysis of ocean and atmosphere, and observation data for detecting the characteristics of rainfall anomaly over the Indonesian Maritime region in seasonal to inter-annual time scale |
| (2) | Transferring data quality control technology to the Republic of Indonesia, BPPT. |
