| Available Position & Research Topics | Available Position: We will be recruiting total of 2 positions as Scientist or Postdoctoral Researcher who will participate in the researches related to the global nonhydrostatic model, NICAM. This reserch position is supported by the MEXT project, "Program for Information on Climate Change". Under this program, we will use NICAM to evaluate cloud properties and their changes associated with global warming, and discuss uncertainties of the climate sensitivity. Research topics are as follow: (1) Numerical simulation of NICAM using the Earth Simulator, and evaluation and improvement of climatology and cloud properties of NICAM using available observational data. (2) Analysis and evaluations of cloud systems both in the tropics and the mid- and high-latitudes using the NICAM simulation data and the satellite observation data, to understand uncertainties of the climate sensitivity. | Salary | Salary will be competitive in accordance with JAMSTEC's bylaws, by considering academic career, research ability and research role in RIGC (annual salary system). Appointment level for positions will be determined by JAMSTEC after the interview based upon the discussion with the successful candidates. e.g. Annual salary: Scientist JPY 5,400,000 - JPY5,700,000 Postdoctoral Researcher: JPY 5,250,000 *No bonus/retirement allowance provided. |
| Terms of Employment | 1) Relocation fee will be provided in accordance with JAMSTEC's bylaws. 2) Allowance for commuting expenses will be provided. 3) The participant and JAMSTEC will share the premiums for insurance and labor insurance according to the current statutory proportion. 4) Housing lease service is available. *Except to Postdoctoral Researcher 5) Holidays and vacations: Saturday, Sunday, public holidays, year-end and beginning of the year are holidays.
