[Environmental Biogeochemical Cycle Research Program (EBCRP),
Research Institute for Global Change (RIGC)] Recruitment for a Scientist

Available Position & Research Topics Available Position: Total 1 position as a Scientist

The Environmental Biogeochemical Cycles Research Program (EBCRP) is studying dynamics of ecosystems and biogeochemical cycles in the oceans, lands, and the atmosphere with close collaboration of observations and modeling studies. The Marine Biogeochemical Cycle Research Team (MBCRT) and Marine Ecosystem Research Team (MERT) in the EBCRP are jointly seeking a scientist to engage in studying spatial and temporal variability of marine ecosystem and biogeochemical cycles on days to decades/basin to global scales by taking full advantage of satellite remote sensing technology, not limited to ocean color.
Job Description It is supposed that the successful candidate will study oceanic response of near-surface biology and physics to external forcings over the sea surface with various temporal and spatial scales, either by using archived multi-satellites remote sensing data, combined with in situ observation data obtained by MBCRT, in collaboration with modeling analyses by MERT. A newly obtained data set by MBCRT from time series stations provides an ideal data set to establish algorithms to derive new variables for ecosystem and biogeochemical cycle studies.
