This facility is used to produce the high-pressure environments similar to the deep sea. Pressure rises by one atmosphere for every 10 m below the ocean surface. The hyperbaric chamber is able to recreate pressure found at depths of 15,600 m, and is used to test the performance of deep-sea materials and equipment used in the deep sea to withstand such pressure.
