要旨

This talk will focus on the Atmospheric models developed at Purdue University and Taiwan Typhoon and Flood Research Institute (TTFRI), including the Purdue Regional Climate Model, Non-hydrostatic models,turbulence-pollution models, characteristic-Lagrangian shallow water models, and land-snow-vegetation models, etc. Those models have been successfully applied to simulate/study the severe weather, lee-vortices, mountain waves, deformation of cold front by the Central Mountain Range, transport of dust/aerosols, turbulence, and the observed snow accumulation/melt as well as the regional climate changes etc. The structure and missions of the National Applied Research Laboratories and TTFRI will also be briefly discussed.
