Abstract

The talk will discuss the latest developments on embedded-boundary (or Cartesian cut-cell) techniques for mesh generation. The proposed approach has advantages in terms of simplicity and implementation in current models.

Issues of well-balancing of the equations (which is known to generate spurious waves) will also be discussed. Benchmarks include balanced flow for an arbitrary geometry and lee-wave generation over topography.
