About International Joint Research Activities
Starting from April 2004, as an Independent Administrative Institutions,
Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), Mid-Term
Plan ("conduct researches on global environmental observation
and global change prediction at International Arctic Research Center
(IARC), and International Pacific Research Center (IPRC)") will
be implemented, following the Mid-Term Goal ("conduct joint research
between US and Japan at International Arctic Research Center (IARC),
and International Pacific Research Center (IPRC)"). Under the
Cooperative Agreement between JAMSTEC and University of Hawaii, FRCGC
conducts collaborative research activities with IPRC.

The purpose of IPRC is to deepend the understanding of the mechanisms
of climate variability particular to the Asia-Pacific sector, and
to predict impacts of global change in the Asia-pacific.
