Reliable projection of future climate change has become indispensable in order to make prudent decision for the sustainable development of our global environment. This is why it has become very urgent to reduce the large current uncertainty in the quantitative projection of future climate change. I look forward to tackling this challenging issue in collaboration with very able research groups at the Meteorological Research Institute of JMA, Center for Climate System Research, National Institute for Environmental Studies, JAMSTEC, National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Prevention, data analysis division of JAXA, and many other institutions.
