Announcement: JAMSTEC facilities are open to the public during the week of the Science & Technology campaign in April, 1998

Every year a wide variety of scientific and technological events are held at the relevant institutes / facilities throughout Japan during the week of this campaign (for one week including Invention day). This year JAMSTEC will also participate in this event:

Contents of the opening: unmanned remote submersible KAIKOU, capable of reaching depths of 10,000 meters; Deep-Sea Research Vessel KAIREI; Submersible Research Vessel SHINKAI 6500; and others.



The Week of the Science and Technology Campaign in FY 1998

The week of the science and technology campaign was enacted, based on the understanding of the cabinet council in 1960. It aims at deepening national interest and understanding of Science and Technology, and through this fact, it seeks the promotion of Japanese endearvours in Science and Technology.

The term is set one week from Monday through Sunday, including April 18 (the Invention day). This year it is from April 13 (Mon) through April 19 (Sun). During this week, a wide variety of the events are held throughout Japan, in cooperation with the relevant ministries / agencies, the local goverments, the institutes concerming science and technology, and the general public.

Announcement of the Opening to the Public of NASDA facilities during the Week of the Science and Technology Campaign


Every year one week from Monday through Sunday including April 18 (the Invention day) is the week of the Science and Technology campaign.
This year, corresponding to the 38th campaign, the week is from April 13 (Mon) through April 19 (Sun), and under the catchword "To the budding Future Scientists" many kinds of events are held by local goverments, respective institutes concerning science and technology as well as the relevant ministries / agencies throughout Japan. NASDA also plans to open its facilities to public. So please come and see our facilities.
