　共同研究サテライトの当面の体制は、鈴木力英、田少奮、ラガバン・クリシュナンの各地球フロンティア研究員、松原綱一事務参事が常勤することになっており、今後とも研究者を増やしていく予定です。研究環境としては、防災科学技術研究所のスーパーコンピュータ（クレイ社製）を共同研究で活用することにしています。
　開所式は松野システム長と片山所長によるネームプレートの設置でお開きになりました。 開所式に引き続いて行われました第1回セミナーでは、下記のテーマで地球フロンティア及び防災研の研究者がそれぞれ発表を行い、活発な意見交換も行われるなど、共同研究による今後の研究の進展に大きな期待が持てるものでした。
