WWW page of K. Masuda at Frontier Research Center for Global Change
studying the global energy and water cycle
Excuse me, but I do not update this web site so frequently.
I will probably make a major clean-up of this site around September 2008.
Most of what I take care on the web have been
contents of lectures for university students.
In the academic years 2001-2006, I have been a visiting
lecturer at Keio University,
and I have built a web site mainly for teaching there at
http://web.sfc.keio.ac.jp/~masudako/ .
Now I do not teach there, but the site is still kept as the university
has accomodated me as a visiting researcher.
In the academic year 2008, I have lectures at
Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (April to June;
teaching materials at http://www.tuat.ac.jp/~masudako/)
and Tokyo Metropolitan University (April to July;
I put contents for the class at the Keio Univ. site).

Opinions
- I oppose the proposed reformation of Japanese copyright law
to extend the period of protection for 20 years.
I believe that this opinion is consistent with my duty at FRCGC
which is funded by Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT),
even though it is said that officers of MEXT have a position in favor of extension.
I primarily work for public knowledge.
I respect intellectual properties as well,
but I think that we must have richness in the public domain.
