MAHASRI
(Monsoon Asia Hydro-Atmospheric Scientific Research and Prediction Initiative,
http://mahasri.cr.chiba-u.ac.jp/)
is one of the Regional Hydroclimate Experiments of
GEWEX
(Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment,
http://www.gewex.org/)
which is a part of
WCRP
(World Climate Research Program,
http://wcrp.wmo.int/;
Japanese introduction at
http://www.jamstec.go.jp/frcgc/wcrp/).
Within GEWEX, coordination of Regional Hydroclimate Experiments is
made by
CEOP
(Coordinated Energy and Water Cycle Observation Project,
http://www.ceop.net/),
so MAHASRI data management is related to CEOP data management
(http://www.eol.ucar.edu/projects/ceop/dm/).
MAHASRI also participates in Asian Monsoon Year, and data management of AMY overlaps with data management of MAHASRI to a large extent.
MAHASRI is a very diverse project and its data management must be done in a distributed manner.
We at JAMSTEC (Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology,
http://www.jamstec.go.jp/)
contribute both observational and modeling part of MAHASRI,
so we also need to participate in the aspect of its data management.
Also, data management of MAHASRI is recognized as an important part
of DIAS
(Data Integration and Analysis System,
http://www.diasjp.org/)
project.
