One of the main goals of FRCGC is the development of a coupled
atmosphere-ocean-land model which can reproduce climate variability
at various time scales. Cooperation between specialists in each
research field related to the climate system is essential to further
understanding of the various physical mechanisms involved in climate
change, and to ensure that each process is accurately represented
in the model. The coupled model development group has been formed
within the Global Warming Research Program so that it works as the
central core team in the coupled model development. Our group will
collaborate closely with researchers in related organizations outside
FRCGC, as well as with other members of the Global Warming Research
Program and FRCGC, with the aim of developing the best model to
date. The coupled model will be open for use by researchers inside
and outside FRCGC under a certain guideline of usage. |
