Research Experience and Education:

April 2000 - present researcher at FRCGC (FRSGC till June 2004)
March 2000 Ph.D. (D.Sc) Univ. of Tokyo (Chemistry)
March 1997 M. Sc. Univ. of Tokyo (Chemistry)
March 1995 B. Sc. Univ. of Tokyo (Chemistry)
Research area:

  • Field observations of gaseous/aerosol species or parameters related to atmospheric chemistry using optical techniques.
  • Observations are interpreted/analyzed in comparison to theoretical behavior (e.g., model simulations)
  • Laboratory experiments for elucidating new processes relevant to atmospheric chemistry.

    specifically,
    • OH and HO2 radical measurements by laser-induced fluorescence
    • Computer simulation of HOx radicals using a photochemical box model based on RACM
    • Solar actinic flux measurements (spectroradiometer) and calculation (TUV model)
    • Measurements of NO2 column and AOD by MAX-DOAS instruments
    • Optical and thermal measurements of EC/OC
    • Heterogeneous chemistry between OH/HO2 radicals and aerosols
    • Ozone sonde measurements
