Overview
1. A water jet dredge is tested about its availability and effectivity in areas where a huge amount of rubble is strewn on the bottom. Manner of operation of the new fishing gear such as towing fashion is also evaluated. The test fishings conduct the stock assessment of surf clam resources.2. A detailed map of strewn rubble in each area of the fishing ground is made out, which determines the extent of available fishing areas.3. The temporal changes of biotic and abiotic environment (benthos composition, sedimental property etc.) after the tsunami are clarified from the view point of the living condition for the surf clam.

Investigation Item and Data Acquisition

Investigation ItemData Acquisition
Effectivity of a water jet dredgefishing capacity on the surf clam, ability to avoid rubble
