Overview
The cruise of Shinsei Maru (KS-14-3) is conducted under the TEAMS project, namely Tohoku Ecosystem Array of Marine Sciences. The hydrographic observation, the primary production measurement with FRRF, and the deployment and recovery of the sediment trap are planned under this cruise.

Results and Future Plan
The research using monitaring systems and the hydrographic observation are conducted under the "Long-term monitoring of the physic-chemical environment in fisheries grounds".The purpose of these observation is to understand impacts on marine ecosystems by the 2011 Earthquake of the Pacific coast of Tohoku and Tsunami, and to contribute to recover and to rebuild the Sanriku fisheries activities in terms of marine science . The sediment trap was deployed and recovered in the cruise of Shinsei Maru (KS-14-3) for understanding composition of settling particle which were added to the surface of sea floor. The hydrographic observation was also operated at 14 stations. Vertical profiles of Temp., Sal., dissolved oxygen,Turbidity, Chl.a and PAR were obtained with SBE CTD-CAROUSEL system (surface to bottom) and FRRF-RINKO system (suraface to 150m) . Water samples were collected, see attach file. One sediment trap was deployed at station S-1 (39-19.86'N 143-10.00'E, water depth 1937m).Settling particle during 4 days will be collected from 2014 Mar. 26 to 2014 June 29. The sediment trap deployed at 39-20.66'N 142-15.02'E, on 2013 Mar. 10 was recovered from 39-10.65'N 142-15.57'E, using sea clearing method.
