Overview
It is supposed that the tidal wetlands in Sendai Bay were contaminated by aromatic carbons and oils at the time of tsunami at 11/3/2011 earthquake. We intend to develop a biological monitoring system of pollution using a gene expression as a marker. We selected, cyp1a, which is known to be strongly activated by aromatic carbons as a marker gene to detect the pollution. Using this system, we test if the bottom of the tidal wetlands of Sendai Bay are polluted by aromatic carbons .
