Overview
Distributional surveys of intertidal animals and plants will be conducted at three rocky shore sites. Ecological characteristics and seasonality of the rocky shore ecosystem in Onagawa Bay will be examined.

Results and Future Plan
Line transect surveys were conducted at three sites in May and at Konori-hama in September. Spatiotemporal distribution patterns were different among the sites. Four permanent quadrats were placed at each of high, middle and low shore in the intertidal zones. Sessile algae and animals in each quadrat were recorded by taking photographs.
