Overview
It has been strongly expected that physical oceanography elucidates routes, volume, and composition of sea currents that convey nutrients to aquaculture and fixed-net fishery in the Sanriku coastal seas. The project "Real-Time Monitoring of Marine Environment in Otsuchi Bay", in which a variety of monitoring instruments will be placed in the bay, aims to elucidate the routes, volume, and composition of coastal sea currents. Moreover, the scientific real-time data obtained by the project, such as water temperature and meteorological conditions, will be distributed via internet to contribute to practical use in the local fishery.
