Overview
A GPS wave buoy with an anemometer and a profiling buoy, moored off Nagasaki on the southern coast of Otsuhi Bay in October 2012, have been operated to observe surface wind and waves, and the vertical profile of water quality (water temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll-a concentration, turbidity, pH and ORP) every one hour

Investigation Item and Data Acquisition

Investigation ItemData Acquisition
Measurement of surface wind by an ultrasonic anemometer10 minutes average of wind speed and direction
Measurement of surface waves by a single mode GPS wave sensor20 minutes wave statistics (Maximum, 1/10 maximum and significant wave heights, and related wave periods and directions)
Measurement of vertical profile of water qualitywater temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll-a concentration, turbidity, pH and ORP
