Overview
1. Quarterly surveys of Sargassum beds and seagrass beds (1) Quarterly surveys of the community structure and biomass of Sargassum beds and seagrass beds will be conducted at two representative sites in Onagawa Bay. (2) Satellite images and aerial photos taken by a drone will be analyzed based on the distribution and biomass data obtained in the field. (3) Long term dynamics in the distribution and biomass in the Sargassum beds and seagrass beds will be analyzed. 2. Evaluation of the quality of Sargassum beds in Onagawa based on the analysis of epiphytic animals (1) Epiphytic animal communities will be analyzed by using the quarterly collected samples at two representative sites. Sampling sites and sampling substrate algal species will be increased as much as possible. (2) Spatiotemporal and multivariate analysis of the Sargassum epifaunal communities will be conducted with using the quarterly collected data since 2016.
