The JAMSTEC encourages wide use of the following JKEO1 data and welcomes collaborations. If you use these data in publications or presentations, please acknowledge both of IORGC/JAMSTEC and PMEL/NOAA. Also, we would appreciate receiving two preprints and/or reprints of publications utilizing the data for inclusion in our bibliography. Relevant publications should be sent to:

Note for Phase 1 Observation:

A subset of the telemetered measurements was available in near-realtime through the GTS from May 22, 2007, to January 25, 2008.

High resolution and Daily average meteorological and oceanic data from February 19, 2007 to March 24, 2008 are available in this web site.

1) Salinity at 50 m depth has not been available since February 19, 2007.

2) Temperature, salinity and current at 15 m depth have not been available since February 24.

3) Load Cell data has not been available since March 2.

4) The wind data from March 13 to May 9 is missing due to sensor trouble.

5) Water temperatures and salinities at 10 and 20 m depths have not been available respectively since May 28 and June 8.

6) Relative humidity has been doubtful since July 29.

7) Sea surface salinity has been doubtful since mid August.

8) Meteorological data have been not available due to system trouble since September 9.

9) Oceanic data have been not available due to system trouble since September 16.

10)On October 4, all meteorological sensors and data tube have been replaced and the data has been telemetered again while the following underwater data are still not available.
  Water
Temperature, salinity and current at 15 m depth, see 2)

Water temperature and salinity at 10 and 20 m depths, see 5)
  Sea surface salinity, see 7)
  Load Cell data, see 3)

11) From January 26, 2008, system has been in failsafe mode and transmitting no observational data but only position data after two-day long very strong and cold wind blowing from January 24.

12) Buoy was recovered on March 24, 2008.

Acknowledgement:

While wind data had not been available since March 13, 2007 due to sensor trouble, it has been recovered on May 10, 2007 by JAMSTEC. We appreciate very much the R/V Hokko-Maru and Chief Scientist Dr. Tsuneo Ono, at Hokkaido National Fisheries Research Institute, Fisheries Research Agency, for their help in repairing the sensor.
