	JKEO1 from February 2007 to March 2008 JKEO1 mooring is based on KEO mooring which was developed at the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) and is essentially a Tropical Atmosphere Ocean (TAO) mooring modified for the harsh conditions of the Kuroshio Extension region. 　<Technical Information on KEO mooring> Details on the JKEO1 mooring site, design, sensor suite, sampling specifications, and telemetry can be found in the following related links. JKEO1: Mooring Information, Sampling specifications, Sensor specifications, Data telemetry JKEO2 from February to September 2008 JKEO3 from November 2008 to August 2009 JKEO4 from August 2009 to January 2011 (plan) These mooring designs adopting K-TRITON buoy for its top buoy are based on m-TRITON mooring design developed at the Marine Technology Center (MARITEC) at JAMSTEC for maintaining the m-TRITON (‘m’ stands for ‘Mini’) buoy designed for making its size and weight smaller than the TRITON buoy used in the Tropical Pacific. K-TRITON buoy (‘K’ stands for Kuroshio or Strong current [Kyoryu in Japanese] region) is essentially a m-TRITON buoy modified for the harsh sea conditions.
