Ocean, Land and Atmosphere Interactions Integrated Reserch Project
Western Pacific Area Cloud and Precipitation System Observation
The project name of "PALAU" is an acronym of Pacific Area Long-term Atmospheric observation for Understanding of climate change. The main purpose of this project is to describe multi-scale structure and interaction of cloud clusters, super cloud clusters and intra-seasonal variations. To elucidate the structure of westerly wind burst, which will become a trigger of El Nino, is also a major interest.
