The Multi-Channel Seismic (MCS) survey system consists of airguns and streamer cable of hydrophones that is towed from the ship's stern. A seismic wave produced from the airgun propagates to the seafloor and ocean crust beneath. The seismic wave are reflected from the ocean bottom and sub-seafloor reflecting interfaces.
