On-Site Reistration Fee

All participants must register and pay registration fees. There are three categories for registration:

• Normal
• Students (or Young Researchers):
  Participants who are 35 years old or younger (as of June 30,2003) and who are students or researchers employed on short-term research contracts. Those registering under this category must send proof that they are students and/or must send proof of date of birth (copy of ID, passport, or driving license).
  
• Accompanying Persons:
  For guests of participants who are not attending the scientific program, but would like to participate in the social events and the special program for accompanying persons. Individuals who wish to attend scientific sessions must register at the normal rate.

Surcharge to the Associations

On the registration form, participants should indicate one of the Union's Association with which they are affiliated or in which they have the most interest. The registration fees INCLUDE a 30 USD surcharge per person that will be paid to the Associations. Surcharge is not collected for Accompanying persons.

Registration Fees and Deadlines

Registration fees must be received by International Communications Specialists, Inc. by the dates given below. If a deadline is missed, the next higher fee will be charged. The normal and students (or Young Researchers) fees include the right to attend all scientific sessions associated with the General Assembly, admission to the exhibits, complimentary refreshments, a copy of the meeting program, and the abstract volumes. Accompanying person(s) fees include admission to the exhibits, complimentary refreshments and a copy of the Accompanying Persons Booklet.

Early Bird (on or before March 31, 2003) ---> Expired

Standard (on or after April1, 2003) ---> Expired at 23:59:59, 31 May 2003 (Japan Time)

Late & On-Site (on or after June 1, 2003) ---> Expired at 23:59:59, 10 June2003 (Japan Time)

* There are no early bird or late fee rates for accompanying persons, and the 30 USD surcharge is not collected.

1) Online Registration System

If you have already obtained your IUGG2003 ID Number, please log-in the online registration system with your ID and password to process your registration. If you have not applied for the IUGG2003 ID Number yet, please access the above website and obtain your IUGG2003 ID Number. If you are not sure whether you have your ID Number, or if you forgot your password, please contact the IUGG2003 Registration office at iugg2003@ics-inc.co.jp.

2) Mail & Fax
Alternatively, you can download the registration form, complete it and send it to the address given below by postal mail or fax.

Methods of Payment

Payment must be made in Japanese yen (JPY) and may be made by the following methods:

To be considered as registered for the Assembly, payment must be received with your registration form. Purchase orders will not be accepted as a form of payment.

Registration Refund Policy

A written notification of cancellation must be received from participants before a refund can be issued. A processing fee will be deducted from the amount according to the date the cancellation letter is received:

Minimum suggested allocation for living expenses in Sapporo

The LOC recommends that the figure of 10,000 Yen be used to calculate living expenses for travel grant purposes. This provides a Class D hotel, 3 meals and an allowance for a weekly subway ticket (although most accommodations will be within walking distance).

IUGG2003 ID Number

You are required to obtain an IUGG2003 ID Number before you can register or submit abstracts. The IUGG2003 ID Number will be used to keep track of the status of your registration, abstract submission, grant application, field trip application and payment.
