This is a joint venture between JAMSTEC and regional governments (prefectures, etc.) with the aim of promoting and spreading ocean science technology within each region, and of promoting development of marine regions. In cooperation with industry, universities, and government, we have conducted research and development on the scientific and technological aspects of regional comprehensive marine use since 1988. We have carried out research in many regions (see figure). The following four studies are currently underway.
