Sample Analysis Facility Seawater pre-processing system Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass-Spectrometer
(ICP-MS)
In order to measure radiocarbon in seawater by accelerator mass spectrometry, this system extracts carbon dioxide gas from seawater sample and converts the gas into graphite powder. The radiocarbon measurement gives “age” of seawater sample. This system performs high precision analysis for minor and trace elements in sea water, marine particles and sediments.
