Four tank mesocosm experiments were conducted during the summers of 2001-2002.
Two(Tank 1, 3) of the experimental tanks were aerated and two(Tank 2,4) were not. In each of the tanks, nutrient samples were collected. In addition, the phytoplankton community structure was analyzed. Preliminary results show how effective aeration is at vertically mixing the water column and at supplying oxygen.
