Saudi-Japan joint workshop on improvement of desert environment was held in Jeddah during 27 and 28 September 2003, planned by Bushnak Water Group and MHI. Many researchers and decision makers participated at the workshop from Saudi Arabia and Japan. |

| ● Planting of Cherry blossom trees in Taif | |

The MEXT project team planted 150 cherry blossom trees as a commemorative tree of friendship between Saudi Arabia and Japan, in Taif National Park, March 2004. It will be expected that many beautiful blossoms can be viewed in Saudi Arabia in the near future, as well as in Japan, shown in the right-side figure. |
