高知コアセンター主催の地震断層研究に関するブレインストーミングが開催されました。

2009年3月24日から25日の二日間、高知コアセンター主催の地震断層研究に関するブレインストーミングが開催されました。このブレインストーミングには、ハーバード大学（米国）、高等師範学校（ENS)(フランス）、産業技術総合研究所、東京大学地震研究所、東北大学、広島大学から計22名の研究者が参加しました。

今回のブレインストーミングは、南海地震を視野に入れた海溝型巨大地震の物理プロセスを明らかにする目的において、地震・坑内観測ー室内力学実験ー物質科学ーシミュレーションを融合した研究を推進していくための意見交換の場として企画されました。

それぞれの分野の研究者が最新の研究成果を紹介し、活発な議論が行われました。会議後には、高知コアセンターの研究施設を見学する時間が設けられ、地震断層研究グループの室内摩擦試験装置と圧密透水試験装置の説明を受けました。二日目は四国四万十帯の巡検を行い、付加体と地震断層の変形構造の観察を行いました。
