The sensitivity of climate on cosmic ray and solar irradiance, as well as the extinct process caused by celestial body impact is investigated. We also study the thermal and mechanical interactions, the material circulations at the core-mantle boundary (CMB) and the earth's surface, and the physical and chemical effects of water transported into the deep interior of the earth due to the plate subduction, on mantle convection and geo-dynamo process using geophysical observations, numerical modeling and laboratory experiments.
